Enterprise development is something we care about, so we’re looking forward to partnering with Trade-Mark, and NGO that trains, mentors and connects artisans with clients. Priya Pitamber tells us a little more about what they do.

Funding Update: Eduplex & Ripple Reading

Amazing news: this past week, we have had 2 of our projects fully funded! The Eduplex fundraising drive was to raise R50,000 to provide an individual scholarship for Kamogelo (Thuto) Msiza, a 5-year old girl with severe hearing loss, enabling her to attend Eduplex Primary School for a year.

The Ripple Reading project raised R60,000 to fund a qualified, retired teacher to teach children in the Ripple Reading literacy program at Nooitgedacht Primary School, impacting on more than 80 children.

Thank you to all of you who have helped Eduplex and Ripple Reading reach their target amounts!

Inside Different

We’ve been up to a few things here at Different.org! We recently relocated from our offices in Broadacres to the corner of Main Road and Bryanston Drive – and we are loving our new building. Look out for us if you’re ever on Main Road in Bryanston. Some of us also participated in TOMS’ #withoutshoes campaign, which ran earlier this week. The concept was simple: take a picture of going barefoot for a day on Tuesday 10 May and TOMS would donate a pair of shoes to a person in need. We don’t usually share pictures of our feet, but we thought this was a worthy cause!

A while ago, we visited a Ripple Reading class at the Blair Atholl Primary School – here one of the pupils takes his classmates through reading exercises.
