Goal

This project will provide one nutritionally fortified meal per day for 85 children at school in Jane Furse, Limpopo, South Africa.

Fostering education via nutrition, The Lunchbox Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a daily meal for orphaned and vulnerable school children in township and rural areas of South Africa, a country where 56% of all children live in poverty. This project aims to provide 85 pre-school children, in Jane Furse, one daily nutritious fortified meal.

The Lunchbox Fund is dedicated to providing a daily meal for orphaned and vulnerable school and pre-school children in township and rural areas of South Africa. They work in Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDCs) both registered and unregistered in impoverished areas.

This project aims at expanding the Lunchbox Fund's successful ECDC Feeding Program to embrace 85 pre-school children in Jane Furse, Limpopo. They will provide a hot, freshly prepared, nutritionally fortified meal to each child on each school day of the year. 85 children, between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, will be fed in Early Childhood Development Centres in Jane Furse. For many children, this is often their only guaranteed meal of the day.
