This project is raising funds to provide vulnerable children, orphans and marginalised youth living in an impoverished community with the opportunity to receive quality education at The Father’s Heart Community Development Online School. This project will cover of the costs of the daily school program for 5 students for 6 months.

In July 2022, The Fathers Heart launched the first ever online school in Fisantekraal, Cape town, in partnership with Think Digital, a leader in online schooling in South Africa. This online schooling option was a desperately needed resource in the community of Fisantekraal, where hundreds, if not thousands, of children do not have access to education due to overcrowding, abject poverty, and abuse/neglect amongst other issues. At the Fathers Heart, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and our online schooling option is specifically aimed for those children who never enrolled or had to leave school due to circumstances out of their own control, such as:

• Never being given the opportunity to attend school due to limited space or neglect/ apathy from substance addicted parents who never bothered to enrol them.

Those who cannot attend mainstream school due to sever bullying, threat of danger or behavioural issues
Those who could not function in mainstream public school due to learning issues (like ADHD/dyslexia)
Pregnant teens (many of whom fall pregnant due to sexual abuse/statutory rape) - our online school provides a safe space for teenage moms to bridge the gap in their education, whilst at the same time receiving mentoring, coaching & encouragement to pursue their goals and complete their education, not drop out and rely on government grants like many do.

The project funding will cover the cost of running the online school programme for 5 students for 6 months which includes:

5 high school students will receive access to the online schooling platform with live teaching
2 meals a day; breakfast & lunch so that they are able to learn because they are not hungry
Textbooks and stationery
Computer hardware, headsets & relevant software
Weekly Mentorship Classes
Biweekly Personal Development Training
Counselling (primarily been utilised by our pregnant teens to help them through difficult circumstances)
Access to all our developmental programs (art therapy, music therapy, drama etc), as all the students who are part of our online school also have access to our after schools programs.

With our Online School being in operation for the 3^rd year, we invite you to be part of providing education to our students, which will give them opportunities, skills and increased knowledge to ensure future success and break the cycle of generational poverty in their lives.

Together we can provide hope, support and opportunities for them to create a brighter future for themselves.
