Goal

This project will fund the extension of a circumcision clinic in Alberton, Gauteng.

Amcare aims to reduce circumcision fatalities by supporting a new initiative, Prepex, to introduce safe circumcision. Amcare’s Injabulo Clinic partners with CHAPS (Centre for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies) and Prepex to dispense Prepex free of charge to those wishing to be circumcised.

Funds raised for this project will be used to build an additional ward that will be used as a dedicated circumcision ward. Currently patients receiving treatment for infection sustained from customary circumcision methods, as well as Prepex recipients, are treated in the same ward.

For more information on the Prepex device, visit www.prepex.com. The device provides people with a safe alternative to customary circumcision.
