Goal

Starfish is raising funds to cover a portion of the operational costs of The Wellness Wagon, a mobile clinic that aims to address the issue of access to health care services for children in remote rural areas. The Wellness Wagon is staffed by a professional nurse and driver, and will visit key points in the Ehlanzeni municipality in Mpumalanga, offering the following services to approximately 3,000 children: (1) HIV testing; (2) TB screening; (3) general health screening; (4) health education; and (5) provision of over-the-counter medication.

With over 15 years’ experience, Starfish supports children in South Africa affected by HIV and poverty. Starfish runs a wellness programme and train local providers in finance, project management, and health and social care to ensure holistic services are given to children in need.

Starfish brings life, hope and opportunity to vulnerable children and their communities, and supports over 12,000 children through 33 local partner organisations.
