This project is raising funds for 5-year-old Kgothatso Mogola’s educational and audiological expenses. Kgothatso was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of 1 year and 6 months. Due to the severity of her hearing loss, the strongest form of hearing aid amplification indicated insufficient hearing thresholds for normal functioning and development.
The Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss in SA reached out to Kothatso and raised funds for a Cochlear Implant, which was the only chance for age-appropriate speech and language development at the time. She received this miracle device in 2021 and has shown remarkable progress ever since.
The Foundation continued their support to raise school bursary fees for Kgothatso to attend the Eduplex School where she receives mainstream, inclusive education. Her annual bursary fund includes school fees, a school uniform, school outings, 2 meals per day, extra academic support, aftercare, parent guidance, holistic support, audiological management, and speech therapy.
