ABOUT THIS PROJECT
It is hard to learn unless you are well fed. This project aims to allocate funds to Cotlands to make sure that vulnerable children in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes run by Cotlands are fed.

HOW TO #DODIFFERENT
1) Share a post on social media = Cotlands receives an allocation that will provide a meal for a child in South Africa

Cotlands is a non-profit early childhood organisation addressing the education and social crisis by establishing early learning playgroups and toy libraries in poor communities to serve vulnerable children aged birth to six.

Why Cotlands and why Early Childhood Development (ECD)?

It is hard to learn unless you are well fed. This project aims to allocate funds to Cotlands to make sure that vulnerable children are well fed. Well-fed children benefit enormously from the ECD programmes run by Cotlands but to maximise the effects of ECD initiatives we need to make sure that children are well-nourished first. This project aims to assist Cotlands in this important project by getting you to #doDifferent. You don't need to be an Activist. You don't need to give us money.

All you need to do is make a simple post to social media, really it is that simple.

For each post funds equal to the cost of feeding a child for a month will be allocated to Cotlands, so that the can go about feeding and educating vulnerable young South Africans.

So what are the benefits of Early Childhood Development (ECD)?

Individual
Ninety percent of a child's brain development happens during the first five years. This is a critical period, not only because it lays the foundation on which all later learning, behaviour and health depend, but also because it determines the trajectory of a child's life.

Increase in matric pass rate.

Increase in employable workforce

Societal
Investing in young children is one of the most effective ways of overcoming the challenges facing our society today.
Creating access to a high-quality play-based ECD programme for children living in poverty contributes to improving their intellectual and social development, their school success, and ultimately their employability an economic performance as adults.
