ACT Africa wishes to implement their Orphanage Africa Project. Their project consists of the following: providing support to orphanages under the wing of ACT Africa, through food relief, taking the children out, assisting with infrastructure improvement and GBV&F and Human Trafficking Awareness & Education and Self Defense workshops.

For this project ACT Africa is raising money for food relief, washing machines and gift packs for Bakgethwa Orphanage and the House Group CYCC and a washing Machine for No More Victims Safe House for Children.

ACT Africa's mission is to save lives through awareness and education, focusing on prevention and breaking the vicious cycles of gender-based violence and human trafficking thereby reducing the statistics.

Too often we are bombarded with images of the African continent, as an impoverished region, with an over-reliance on help from the Western World however middle-class Africa exists with an increasing number of young, affluent and professionals that are doing their bit to boost the welfare of the more vulnerable groups, such as orphans and homeless children, who are simply looking for an opportunity and a renewed chance at life.

The core of the Orphanage Africa concept is a humanitarian campaign which spans over 13 African countries which creates continental awareness showcasing the plight of orphans and the conditions found in various orphanages across Africa. Although many get fantastic support from their various Governments, many don’t, we as Africans, should all take responsibility as Africans and support those children in need.

Their project consists of the following: providing support to orphanages under the wing of ACT Africa, through food relief, taking the children out, assisting with infrastructure improvement and GBV&F and Human Trafficking Awareness & Education and Self Defense workshops.

ACT Africa is raising money for food relief, washing machines and gift packs for 3 orphanages based in Gauteng South Africa.

Washing clothing, curtaining etc at these centres are done by hand and is very time consuming taking the number of children into account as well as being very harsh on the hands due to working for hours in water with washing detergents. Providing these centres with washing machines will provide much-needed relief timewise and health-wise.

Food relief to 2 of the centres will be provided to take the strain of them trying to ensure there is enough groceries daily to feed the children at least for a little while. The children are special and have been through the most and deserve to be treated, so ACT Africa wants to treat the children and their caregivers with Gift packs. Their caregivers deserve a token of appreciation and thanks for all they do for the children ensuring they are taken care of, feel loved and protected.

By supporting the Orphanage Africa Campaign, you will be assisting with putting smiles on children’s faces and bringing about light in the dark situations they find themselves in.
