Six in ten children in South Africa grow up without a father in their household. Fatherlessness has been shown to profoundly impact individuals, communities, and nations. IQF Foundation is dedicated to changing this narrative.
As a non-profit football academy, we focus on supporting fatherless youth or those lacking parental support. Our mission goes beyond the game—we are dedicated to shaping young boys into responsible men, strong leaders, fathers, and positive contributors to their communities, using evidence-based neuro-football training and mentoring.
Zandspruit is a densely populated township in Region C of the City of Johannesburg, marked by chronic underdevelopment, limited access to quality services, fatherlessness and high unemployment.
We are seeking financial support to establish and sustain a neuro-football training programme in Zandspruit to serve 200 children: 100 toddlers and young children (ages 1–6) from the daycare and 100 youth (ages 7–17) from the wider community.
IQ Football's neuro-football programme in Zandspruit will provide:
SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Provide evidence-based neuroscience football training to 200 children in Zandspruit to enhance cognitive, technical and motor skill development through IQ Football techniques.
EMPLOYMENT
Create opportunities for local coaches and young people to gain skills, training, and employment as coaches and assistant coaches, fostering leadership and career development within the community.
TALENT GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITIES
Identify and nurture exceptionally talented and dedicated players by providing them with the opportunity to join the IQ Football Centre of Excellence (ages 11-17) based in Randburg, where they will compete in local leagues. These players will receive kits and tracksuits and have the potential to advance into professional clubs both locally and internationally.
SAFE SPACE
Offer a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children to learn and play.
COMMUNITY HUB
Establish a safe and welcoming community hub where youth can engage in fun and meaningful activities after school and on weekends, keeping them positively engaged and away from negative influences. Over time, this space can evolve into a centre for mentorship opportunities for both parents and young people with our current partnership with Fathers Matter.
Join us in raising R50,000 to establish a neuroscience-based football training centre in Zandspruit and provide seven months of life-changing training to 200 local youth.
We are dedicated to raising elite footballers who become nation-changers, walking boldly in their purpose and transforming the future.
