Funding Update: Children in the Wilderness

Thank you! Children in the Wilderness does great work within their community and their project “Training Eco-Mentors, Changing Lives, Saving the Environment” is fully funded! With these funds, they will be able to train 20 community Eco-Mentors, who will teach children about their environment and how to conserve it

New Project: Rays of Hope

We’re excited to be partnering with Rays of Hope, a NGO that assists a number of child-headed households in Alexandra, a township close to Sandton in Johannesburg. The children responsible for looking after their younger family members face many challenges, which include securing safe living arrangements for their “families”. Rays of Hope is crowdfunding to raise the funds needed for building material and builders’ services to make some of the structures occupied by the children, more habitable. Click below if you’d like to know more about this project.

Pictures of the Week: Rhiza Babuyile

Ryan Sobey, our Head of Operations, recently spent some time with the fashion designers working under the Township Fleva brand, established by Rhiza Babuyile, one of our NGO partners. Here’s Bafana Ketja, one of the designers, with his trusty Singer machine. The Township Fleva designers will be showcasing their work at the Rosebank Sunday Market for the first time this Sunday. Click below for more information on the Township Fleva project.
