If these words are true – and many experts confirm this to be the case, then many children in South Africa who do not have access to toys may be missing out on an integral part of their development. Thankfully Cotlands appreciates the importance of play, and wants to ensure that play is a right, not a privilege reserved for a few.

Funding Update: MES

Great news! Together, we’ve raised R32 698 for MES’ Grow Hillbrow Programme. We’re looking forward to reaching the target amount of R127 000 with your help. The programme participants, who were formerly homeless, are now receiving job readiness training while keeping some of Hillbrow’s most squalid areas clean on a daily basis. They’re doing wonderful work!

We love telling you the stories of the impact that you’re helping to make in South Africa – so much so that we go to great lengths to make them awesome. Here’s a picture of photographer Jono Wood in a tea plantation in the Vhembe Province of Venda. Jono, Spaghetti.TV cameraman Richard Ingham and Different.org’s Ryan Sobey joined Flying for Life’s Thendo Dama for a trip to document the lives of those who have benefitted, and will soon benefit, from cataract operations made possible by Flying for Life.
