We’re looking forward to partnering with the Akani Diepsloot Foundation, and their Aftercare Centre, in the near future. Here’s a little more about what they do.
Akani Aftercare Centre in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg, currently serves around 850 children from Grade 0 to Grade 11. Children receive a nutritious meal at the Centre on weekdays and Saturdays, and participate in a number of programmes focusing on mental, physical, social and spiritual development.
Akani Foundation and Different.org will be partnering together to fundraise R39,600, which will be used to send 14 childminders for educational training with Star Schools – enabling them to better serve the children in their care.

I write this with happiness and with a great regret. I spent all my childhood at Akani, Akani really made a huge difference, it really fought against poverty, crime, teenage pregnancy and many more than Diepsloot is still experiencing. It is with a great regret to see the good work coming to an end. The community now is face lots and lots of issue which were eliminated by Akani DIEPSLOOT foundation, it has been a good ideas of closing the after care and opened up daily school. Now the the community is suffering, there is a gap in between after school period lots of thing are being experienced by the community now. I know they are other organisations within the community but they are not so effective like Akani. It is my wish to see Akani operating once again. I am really looking forward to revive the old and bring it back to live, I have learn slot Suretha Zhung.
