On Mandela Day, we had the pleasure of spending time with Starfish Greathearts Foundation, one of our partner organisations, and one of their community-based partners, Nokuphila Community Foundation. The objective: to assist five families in Kwathema, near Springs, whose circumstances rendered them extremely vulnerable and in need of emergency relief. Together with other volunteers, we cleared out abandoned vegetable patches, planted flowers, installed door handles, painted walls and did a few other things to improve the living situation of the families.
We wanted to share a few of the touching thank you letters that Starfish received from the families that we helped on that day.
Starfish Greathearts Foundation’s project, The Wellness Wagon, is currently running on Different.org. The funds raised for this project will be used to cover operational costs for a mobile wellness clinic, based in KwaZulu-Natal and staffed by a professional nurse. To support, please click here.
