We can’t believe that it’s been almost a year since our pilot project with Children in the Wilderness, based in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, was fully funded. This photo was taken on the day that the library renovations were completed. “The library is bringing the community together as it is not only broadening the minds of the Vululwazi Primary School children, but the local high school children as well, which is great,” says Janet Wilkinson, the Project Manager of Children in the Wilderness. By establishing libraries in remote rural communities, Children in the Wilderness wants to create learning sanctuaries which inspire and encourage learning, showing the youth a new world of opportunities.
