It’s been just over three and a half years since we officially launched Different Life on the 12th of March 2015, and we just wanted to issue a big thank you to each of you for supporting Different Life, and especially to those of you who have been with us for a significant length of time.
As always, we’ve kept to our commitment to do business in a way that benefits not only our shareholders and customers, but also society at large.
So how exactly does our business model set about making a difference to society? Simply put, we allow every single Different Life client to donate their first scheduled payment, and every subsequent anniversary payment thereafter to an NGO project of their choice on our crowdfunding platform, Different.org. We call this powerful donation mechanism the Different Donation.
So thank you again. We greatly value your support and wanted to share some of highlights for the year with you.
1. NOT JUST TALK: R11,62 MILLION DONATED, AND STILL COUNTING…
We’re pretty chuffed that the Different Donation is proving to be a powerful force, and that the annuity effect – via your recurring annual donations – is starting to make a real impact. We love that we’ve empowered Different Life clients to become philanthropists, whilst at the same time also looking out for their own interests.

3. IMPACT MADE BY PROJECTS FUNDED ON DIFFERENT.ORG
As well as helping worthy NGO projects get funding, we also love telling the stories of the impact made by those same NGOs on Different.org. We want donors to see how their money is helping change South Africa for the better.
Along with the projects above, the following NGOs also had their projects fully funded on Different.org in 2018: Reach for a Dream, Kids Haven, National Children’s Theater, Heronbridge College Foundation and Eduplex.
