The woman in the picture below, Nomsa Mbatha, inspires us. Although almost completely blind (she navigates herself using a white cane), she is a member of the MES cleaning team and with assistance from her team mates, helps clean the streets of Hillbrow. Every morning before the team heads out to work, Nomsa leads the team in a song of praise. Like all the other participants of the MES programme, Nomsa was previously unemployed and homeless, but is now equipping herself with job-readiness skills.
