Goal

Vuleka Schools is fundraising to purchase Notebooks for their classroom as they recognise the importance of technology in learner development and its massive impact on fostering collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity. We acknowledge that the is a paradigm shift in education due to ICT and that technology skills are not only for the future but they begin now.

Vuleka School is a low fee independent, non-profit, Anglican Diocesan school providing affordable education. Vuleka School began as a project 33 years ago to put previously disadvantaged children into a more efficient branch of the education system and to overcome the difficulties children face when the medium of instruction is not in their mother tongue.

Vuleka works in partnership with churches, parents/caregivers, donors big and small, other independent schools, and NGOs to achieve the Vuleka mission, to provide excellent, holistic and affordable education relevant.
Support is given to:

All: Pupil school fees are subsidised by fundraising R7,000 per child to keep fees affordable.
Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC): Supported by donor funding for tuition.
Educational assessments and therapy at our Assisted Learning Centre.
Parents: Through the Parent Partnership Programme, to strengthen the family unit and school-home relationship for our pupils.

How your donation to education will impact our community

Vuleka School wishes to raise funds that will equip Vuleka St Joseph’s Archbishop Thabo Makgoba School with new laptops to improve the current Technology Programme and include 21st Century technology skills such as robotics and coding; and grow the essential 4C’s skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration, needed to succeed in the quick paced century.

We are creating an entirely new subject, with its own curriculum, and have divided it into 4 broad
segments:

Concepts, Skills, Coding and Digital citizenship.
A web-based, cloud-hosted learning management system.
We have to provide equipment in the form of computers/tablets, access to connectivity and fibre
including Firewall support.
Outcomes and Planned results include Microsoft Accredited certification for our Teachers and Learners
in Grade 12.
Full digital citizens, Integrated learning across of subject areas, assisted by Technology.
