Goal

This project is raising funds to sterilise a minimum of 200 feral cats per week, totalling a minimum of 400 cats, as they will partner with feral cat organisations for two weeks. By sterilising these feral cats they will help to maintain these colonies, decrease the number of unwanted feral cats in various areas, as well as manage disease within those colonies.

The Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) was formed in 1958 by the late Didi Rutherford who had an unrivalled passion for the wellbeing of animals. They provide professional veterinary care that is built on a foundation of focused animal care education within marginalized and disadvantaged local communities. Their professional veterinary care is supported with experienced surgical and medical veterinarians and para-veterinarians who achieve excellence in their respective disciplines.

They are situated in Vorna Valley, Midrand on a 4.2ha farm. The facility comprises of a state-of-the-art small animal hospital with over 200 kennels inside and outside, an equine care centre, paddocking for herd animals and equine, administration offices and storage facilities.
