Goal

This project will provide 30 dreams to life threatened boys.

Captain Courage is an exclusive ‘boys only’ project filled with adventurous activities to reward life-threatened children for their bravery. Being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness can be a very challenging experience for a young boy. Spending long periods of time in hospital, on treatment and possibly away from their families and school friends can leave him feeling low and miserable. By taking part in courageous activities, our boys are given the chance to test their nerves and show off their fighting spirit. Every Captain Courage event is aimed at exposing the boys to a new environment but more importantly it’s an opportunity for them to have fun outside of hospital with other children who have similar experiences. At the end of the day, the boys’ acts of bravery are honored by getting a medal, to constantly remind them that they are a hero!

Reach For A Dream believes that every child has the inherent courage to fight the challenges that being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness may bring. The Foundation’s national projects are aimed at motivating young dreamers to believe in their dreams and raising their confidence and self-esteem through group activities.  Captain Courage is one of RFAD’s national initiatives. By taking part in courageous activities, the boys are given the chance to show their fighting spirit!
