Goal

The money raised through this initiative will be used to fund various projects which the organisation coordinates in Alexandra.

Alexandra Township’s (Alex) one-hundred-and-four year history is a story of conflict, hardship and extreme poverty. More than half a million people live in Alex, most of whom have been affected by poverty, unemployment, overcrowding, crime and the breakdown of family structures.

Rays of Hope has been working in Alex since 1991, making a difference in the lives of people, primarily focusing on orphaned and vulnerable children, education and work readiness. The non-profit has partnered with thousands of Alex residents to help break the victim-cycle with an approach that values the dignity and worth of all residents.  The intervention and care is holistic, addressing spiritual, physical and psychosocial needs of beneficiaries.
