Renewable Energy Project
by The Kenosis Community Trust
This project is raising funds to purchase a battery and four solar panels to assist with powering the fridges and lights in our foster homes, which will provide food security for our foster families and lights which enable their foster children to do their homework at night.
The project is the provision of a battery and four solar panels to assist with powering the fridges and lights in our foster homes. This will provide food security for our foster families and some lighting to enable children to do their homework at night during times when the electricity is off. This has become a very frequent problem. Our foster mums cannot afford to throw away food and replace it when the electricity is off for long periods as has begun to happen frequently in the last two years.
All our current school-going foster children (13) and any who are placed at Kenosis in the future will benefit from this programme. The project focuses both on education (as it supports our children in their educational endeavours) and health (food security for our children).
