Goal

As the African proverb goes: “It takes a village to raise a child”. Ethembeni is giving expression to this with its Educational Support Project, which gives learners in Mpophomeni, the support that they need to succeed in life. This includes mentoring and support, as well as family visits and fun events to educate and encourage. The Educational Support Project will support 38 children for a period of 12 months.

Ethembeni means hope in Zulu. The Ethembeni Project is about bringing hope to vulnerable families in the Umgeni and Mpofana municipalities in and around Howick.
